I have a background in Psychology and worked for the NHS before qualifying as a counsellor. I have worked in research and education and in different counselling environments with a range of clients in addition to working in private practice and working for EAP providers.

It can be difficult to reach out for support when we are going through a rough time in our lives. I believe that counselling provides a space to explore the experiences that are causing us difficulties and that sometimes we need support to enable us to more forward. Talking to someone that you can trust can help us to clarify and make sense of things happening in our life and the way that we are feeling.
If you choose to make an appointment, then this will be a confidential space for you. I believe in creating a trusting relationship that will provide a safe place in which I hope you will feel accepted and understood. Together we can work to help gain a better understanding of your thoughts and feelings in a non judgmental way. I value providing a safe, reflective counselling area where you can be heard, understood and where your needs are met.
Counselling can help you to explore the cause of your feelings, to understand them and find ways of dealing with situations for example a counsellor can help you learn to cope with anxiety. I frequently work with anxiety; talking to a counsellor can help you to understand what particular situations in your life are causing anxiety.
I work with a range of issues that cause distress, such as bereavement, relationship issues including GSRD, separation, divorce, loss, depression, trauma, abuse, or suicidal thoughts. People who come to see me bring many issues that are causing them difficulty, counselling is about you and what you need at this time to begin to feel better.

Sessions are charged at £45 for 50 mins. If you are unsure if counselling is right for you at present, you could choose to book a 30min assessment session (£25) and we can talk through what support you need at this time. I ask for payment in advance of sessions; this secures your session time.

To book an appointment you can contact me via the website, email, text or phone. I aim to get back to you as soon as possible, usually the same day.
